    Our One-to-One Support for Fathers provides personalised guidance for dads facing difficult circumstances and needing practical help to move forward. We recognise that many fathers face challenges that can affect their well-being, relationships, and ability to remain involved in their children’s lives. Through confidential one-to-one sessions, we offer a safe, supportive space where fathers can talk openly about the issues they face and receive tailored advice and guidance. This support may include help with: Family and relationship challenges Parenting and co-parenting support Housing and homelessness concerns Mental health and emotional well-being Family court processes and paperwork Employment, training, and confidence building Accessing wider services and community support Our approach is inclusive and empowering, ensuring that fathers feel heard, respected, and supported as they work towards stability and positive outcomes for themselves and their children. We understand that every father’s situation is unique, which is why our one-to-one support focuses on practical solutions, guidance, and ongoing encouragement to help fathers overcome barriers and remain positively involved in their children’s lives.

  • Free Dads Support – Sneinton

    Dads Do Talk is a supportive peer-led session for fathers held in Sneinton, providing a safe and welcoming space where dads can openly talk about life, parenting, and the challenges they may be facing. Many fathers carry pressures around work, relationships, parenting, and mental wellbeing but often have few spaces where they feel comfortable speaking about these issues. Dads Do Talk creates a relaxed environment where fathers can connect with others who understand their experiences, share openly, and support one another. The sessions focus on improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and helping fathers feel more confident in both their personal lives and their roles as parents. During these sessions, fathers can: Talk openly about their experiences in a supportive environment Connect with other dads in the community Receive guidance and encouragement from peer mentors Discuss topics such as stress, relationships, parenting, and well-being Access information and support services where needed The sessions are informal and welcoming, with no pressure to speak; fathers can simply come along, listen, and be part of a supportive community. By creating spaces where fathers feel comfortable talking, Dads Do Talk helps break down stigma around men’s mental health while strengthening families and communities.

    The Dad’s Programme is a supportive community initiative designed to help fathers build stronger relationships with their children, improve their wellbeing, and develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive as parents. At Shifting Your Mindset, we recognise that many fathers face challenges such as relationship breakdowns, housing instability, mental health pressures, financial stress, and barriers to accessing support. The Dad’s Programme provides a welcoming space where fathers can connect with other dads, share experiences, and receive practical guidance in a non-judgemental environment. Through Saturday weekly sessions, peer support, workshops, and one-to-one guidance, fathers are supported to develop positive parenting skills, strengthen communication with their children and co-parents, and navigate difficult situations such as family court processes or rebuilding family relationships. The programme also offers opportunities for fathers and children to spend quality time together through family activities and community events, helping to strengthen family bonds and create positive memories. Our support includes: Parenting and child development guidance Peer support and group discussions One-to-one advice and practical support Help with housing, employment, and family court processes Father–child bonding activities and family events Access to wider community services and support networks The Dad’s Programme is open to all fathers, with a particular focus on supporting those who may feel isolated or excluded from traditional services.     We are working with system partners and fathers within the communities to Aim: To support young fathers in developing a sense of competence in their parenting skills, mentorship, and build their confidence about Their role of becoming a father. Outcomes: Build positive connections with other dads Increase parenting confidence and competence Provide tools that can help them be part of their child's growth and development processes Mentorship for young dads Provide `well-being support through our dads talk sessions Content: The programme gives them keys tools for becoming a father, parenting skills to use a positive parenting approach and emphasises the important role fathers play in their child’s growth and development. Provide wellbeing support especially around the anxieties of becoming a father at a young age. The programme is interactive, fun and gives them an opportunity for fathers to build a support network. We will provide mentorship from other Fathers with experience. We will have a father and child/partner fun activity to also look at the emotional development of a child.

We will focus on strength and flexibility, that will leave you empowered to face life and all its challenges.

  • Early Years Dads Parenting Course

    The Early Years is a six session course for dads with children from birth to four years. We hope it will provide an opportunity for parents who are bringing up children to support and encourage each other.
